Should I Buy A MacBook In 2022?

With the upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro right around the corner, many of us are getting ready to lunge at the next MacBook sale.

The entry-level MacBook Pro was last improved in the last quarter of 2020, sporting the brand new M1 Apple chips. Interestingly enough, it came at the same time as the lauded MacBook Air and the Mac Mini. All three products enjoyed great success and represented a huge step forward at the time. However, many feel it is time for an update.

The MacBook Pro is an interesting product. It straddles the line between a laptop and a desktop, with its powerful hardware and large screen. And, at the same time, it is light and easy to carry around.

The most interesting aspect the MacBook Pro brought to the table was the introduction of the M1 chip. Many features were improved in most Apple machines that were released that year, but Mac enthusiasts could not wait to see how the change from Intel architecture towards something that is specifically created for Mac users.

The M1 chip was a true workhorse and allowed the MacBook Pro to keep up with, if not exceed, many of the top-of-the-line laptops on the market, even those with equivalent specs. The chip proved to be a true workhorse in terms of performance and efficiency, and its success cued the development of the upcoming successor.

These “System on a Chip” solutions integrate several vital components that make it a lot more efficient than your regular CPU. For example, it controls graphic processing tasks much better than your integrated graphics Intel chip while using up to 70% less power. This means a lot more FPS for gaming for a fraction of the temperature.

However, the chip was not the only upgrade brought by this new generation of MacBooks.
In addition to the new chip, several other changes came in the last MacBook Pro update. Updates to the Thunderbolt ports, keyboard, and trackpad brought the device in line with Apple’s other offerings from that year.

The Thunderbolt 3 ports are especially interesting, as they can support a variety of different connection types. This means that you can use the same port to connect your laptop to an external monitor, or even charge it. The addition of a charging port is a big plus, as it means that you no longer have to carry around a separate charger.

The keyboard and trackpad were also updated with this update. The keyboard was made quieter and more responsive, while the trackpad was enlarged and given new gestures.

Regardless of their success, many think these nifty changes are already showing their age, and Apple seems to be taking note of what their users say about their older models.

However, some think that the newer models that are scheduled for release this year are worth their asking price. Yes, they all seem to come with nice new features. However, it seems their price might be inflated by current events, and the extra dollars do not seem to come attached with extra performance.

It seems that the best way to get the most bang for your hard-earned buck is to find a MacBook sale on a reputed website and get a refurbished machine backed up with a solid warranty that offers top performance for at least a couple of years.
