Modern Home Decor Ideas To Transform Your House

Modern home design, unlike traditional design, does not rely on complex displays. It’s simple and unadorned, focusing on functionality while keeping the looks in check.

Natural lights, natural materials, and simplistic furniture are some of the most observed characteristics of a modern home. There’s also not a lot of stuff lying around that doesn’t serve any purpose. Homeowners prefer to keep the space uncluttered.

The palate too is often limited, where monochrome and subtle colors are preferred over the vibrant ones, although that’s not a requisite.

Designing a modern home from the inside isn’t very easy, but at the same time, it doesn’t have to be very hard either. Here are a few tips to help you decorate your home to give it the modern look and feel you so dearly aspire to have.

Maintain Lighter Tones
Light, soft tones are a defining attribute of modern homes. Mixing peach whites with accents of pink on the walls, furniture involving light browns and yellows is seen in many modern houses. The use of vibrant colors too can work in your favor, but it’s important to not overdo it. Having a few elements such as a couch, or a wall painting with poppy colors can balance the monotonous tone of the room, and make it more lively.

Involving the Windows
Natural light is an important element in modern homes. The more natural light you have, the more uplifted the house will feel.

While having big windows does help in letting in more light, having small ones isn’t all bad either. If your place enables it, you can add plants and flower pots beneath your windows. If you have big windows, try using soft white curtains that scale from the ceiling to the floor. They soften the sunlight entering your house.

Carve Out A Home Bar
If you have an open floor plan, or your living room has some extra space you could definitely utilize. Then having a home bar is a great idea. Work with the basics such as a counter, a bottle rack, cooler and a few bar stools. You can also enter a few pendant lights above the bar, ensuring they are high enough so there are no head bumps.

Get A Frame TV
What good is it if all your design efforts are ruined by a black screen that just stays there, stagnant on the wall? Well, don’t rush to conclusions just as yet. You don’t need to get rid of the idea of having a TV in your living room. All you need is a Frame TV, one that can function as a digital photo frame, or as a painting when you aren’t using it for entertainment or sports.

Don’t Keep the Ceiling Plain
Ceilings shouldn’t be boring, not should they be plain. There’s a lot you can do with your ceilings. Firstly, you can decide to paint your ceilings & play with various colors. Painting the ceiling with a darker color, for example, will give the room a cozier feel.

Painting it white, on the other hand, will make a small room look relatively larger. Another thing you can add is false ceilings. False ceilings give the impression that your ceiling is floating, which gives your rooms a magical feel.

Modern homes aren’t just limited to interior designs, but the overall architecture is equally as important. Building a modern house by yourself can be difficult, and it’s always better to have a professional handle a dream that’s so precious to you.
