Stick-Ons, Iron-Ons, Or Woven Washable Labels For Clothing?

Nearly every kid goes through that phase wherein they would lose a thing or two at school, in the daycare, or at camp. And while it’s natural for kids to sometimes lose sight of their belongings, there are plenty of ways that parents can help their kids keep track of their personal items and learn the life skills needed to help them pay more attention to their things.

Name labels, stickers, and clothing labels are just a few tools that you can use to make sure that none of your kids’ stuff is misplaced ever again. Or if ever they do get misplaced, at least they’ll be much easier to find thanks to the name labels.

But when it comes to washable labels for clothing, there are few options that parents can choose from for their kids. Some are easier to attach than others, but at the same time come with certain restraints and challenges. So as a parent, how do you know which types of clothing labels to use for your kids?

Sew-On Woven Labels
When it comes to clothing labels, woven labels are probably the sturdiest and most durable of the available choices. Because they’re made by weaving thread together, they’re much less likely to fade or wear away with repeated use and washing.

The nature of woven labels also allows you to readily attach and detach a label from a piece of clothing. This makes sense if your kids are growing up and need their tops and bottoms replaced with bigger ones.

The only downside to woven labels is the fact that they require stitching. Unless you have a sewing machine at home, this can take a lot of time and effort, especially if you’re going to do it yourself.

Iron On Labels
Iron on labels make use of the heat applied by an iron to permanently embed a label onto a piece of clothing. These are often permanently attached to the clothing once you’ve ironed them on, making them perfect if you’re worried about the labels fading or peeling.

For clothes, this is super helpful, especially as you’ll want them to be repeatedly washed. However, the downside, of course, is that these labels are permanent. This means that if you have more than one kid, and you plan on handing down some of these clothes, the labels will still be there even as your next child wears them.

Stick On Labels
Stick on labels work similarly to regular stickers, and are perhaps the easiest type of washable labels for clothing you could ever use. Depending on the quality of the stick ons you use, these labels can last for equally long periods as iron on labels.

Some stick on labels even go as far as allowing you to remove the labels once your child is done using these pieces, making it easy to pass down or donate clothing that’s still in good shape.

Add to that the fact that stick labels don’t require any sewing or ironing, they can save parents a lot of time and effort when it comes to labeling their kids’ clothes.

Always Choose Quality Washable Labels For Clothing
With all that’s been said, it is important to note that not all clothing labels adhere to this kind of quality. Some fade faster than others, and some easily peel off or deteriorate. That’s why it’s important to choose the right company to partner with when it comes to keeping your kids’ things safe and secure.

Find clothing labels that have a proven track record, like those sold by Sticky Monkey Labels. Being a mom-owned business itself, their labels are of top-notch quality. After all, you want to be able to have that peace of mind knowing that your kids’ things have a greater chance of being found whenever misplaced.
