Some Basic Information Regarding Delta 9 THC

There are over 100 cannabinoids found in hemp plants, and two of the better-known ones are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

The latter is the one we all associate with the euphoric sensation produced by the consumption of cannabis products. It is occasionally referred to as Delta 9 THC, to distinguish it from other forms of THC like Delta 8 and Delta 10.

Here’s what you should know about it, from a high level.

What’s The Difference Between Delta 9 and THC?
The first thing to recognize is that Delta 9 is a form of THC. It is, in fact, the form most people are talking about when they say “THC,” and is present in one of the highest concentrations in hemp plants.

So, for most intents and purposes, Delta 9 and THC are used interchangeably.

What’s The Difference Between Delta 9 and Delta 8?
Delta 9 THC is slightly different, chemically, from another popular form of THC, known as Delta 8 THC.

Both Delta 9 and Delta 8 naturally occur in hemp plants, but Delta 9 occurs in high concentrations whereas Delta 8 only occurs at small concentrations.

Tetrahydrocannabinol has a chain of carbon atoms, a “tail,” if you will. The only difference between Delta 9 and Delta 8 THC, chemically, is that there is a double bond on the 8th carbon atom of the tail, whereas in Delta 9, it is on the 9th.

This minor difference has a considerable effect on the psychoactive properties of these compounds. Delta 9 produces the euphoria commonly referred to as a high – Delta 8 also produces similar psychoactive effects, but only in higher concentrations.

Can Delta 9 Get You High?
Delta 9 can definitely get you high. It shows a high binding affinity to CB1 and CB2 receptors and produces among the most intense effects of all types of THC.

Its effects include euphoria, relaxation, sedation, and improved sensory perception, among others.

Does Delta 9 Have Other Uses?
Delta 9 may have other uses in addition to the fact that it produces psychoactive effects. It may have anti-inflammatory, antiemetic effects, and some users consume it to improve sleep quality or to reduce feelings of stress or anxiety.

Is Delta 9 Legal?
Delta 9 is not legal at the federal level. However, each state has its own set of laws regarding recreational and medical uses for cannabis products. Delta 9 may be legal in your state.

Are There Delta 9 Gummies and Other Edibles?
Yes, they offer Delta 9 gummies and a great selection of other edible products available for sale.
