CheyTac M200 Cost: Breaking It Down

In the market for a rifle that sits on the bleeding edge of performance? You could hardly do better than a CheyTac M200 Intervention. It is one of the most accurate rifles in the world, if not the most accurate, and it can deliver half-MOA accuracy, engaging targets at ranges in excess of 2000 yards.

If you seriously want to buy one, this article will shine a light on CheyTac M200 costs, where they come from, and if they are worth it.

The Cost of the Rifle

The most obvious aspect of a CheyTac M200’s cost is the cost of the rifle itself.

For the purpose of illustration, we’ll work with B&B Firearms as an example, since they are an official CheyTac distributor.

Through their website, the CheyTac M200 Intervention starts at $11,388. Now, keep in mind that the rifle comes with two barrels (so you can use it with either .375 or .408 CheyTac), along with a bipod and a muzzle brake.

A good thing to note here is that B&B Firearms offers an installment plan that only requires buyers to put down 20%, paying off the balance in 6 interest-free payments every 30 days.

If you are a fan of the CheyTac action, there are ways to engineer this down as well. For instance, B&B Firearms also sells the M300 Praetorian in .375 CT, with either a McMillan or a Cadex chassis.

Justification for the Costs

Even though the CheyTac M200 Intervention is an expensive rifle, there are good reasons for the justification of the cost:

  • It promises extreme precision of a half-MOA and the ability to engage targets beyond 2500 yards.
  • The rifle (and its cartridge pairing) produce less drop and drift than any other in the world.
  • CheyTac’s barrels are supposed to last for 10,000 rounds.
  • The entire platform is extremely modular and adjustable, so it’s like getting a custom chassis.

Other CheyTac M200 Costs

There is one other huge cost associated with a CheyTac M200 and it’s the ammo.

The M200 is chambered in either .375 or .408 CT, depending on the barrel you’re using. Both of these cartridges are fairly expensive and cost several dollars per round.

Now, you get what you pay for. These are extreme-precision bullets CNC-machined from pure copper and manufactured to deliver pinpoint accuracy at ranges beyond 1000 yards. So the cost is justified.

Just be aware that it is another cost of the rifle. Incidentally, you can also buy this ammo (at fairly competitive prices) from B&B Firearms.

Where Can You Get One?

Still have some things to weigh before you pull the trigger on a CheyTac M200 (either figuratively or literally)? Visit B&B Firearms. There you can learn more about the M200, explore other extreme-precision long-range rifles, and if you have any questions, contact their customer service at CS@BnBFirearms.com. You can also call them directly at 484-616-0403.
