Looking for a Demon Slayer Rengoku Sword? Here’s What You Need to Know

Kyojuro Rengoku was one of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s more prominent, and most popular, characters. His death at the hands of Akaza did little to tarnish fans’ appreciation, and his unique style and personal idiosyncrasies have made him one of the series’ most beloved characters.

If anything, his character has only become more popular – so if you’re going to cosplay as Kyojuro Rengoku and you’re looking for a Demon Slayer Rengoku sword, here are a few things you need to know.

About Demon Slayer Rengoku and His Unique Style
Rengoku Kyojuro was a Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps, making him one of the most elite and skilled warriors in the Corps.

Specifically, Rengoku was a Flame Hashira, one of the Hashira who practiced the “Flame-Breathing” technique, a Breathing Style that derived from Sun Breathing.

Hashira who practiced the Flame-Breathing style, like Rengoku, replicated the movement and abilities of flames in their moves, forms, and strikes.

The Flame-Breathing style consisted of 9 unique techniques, each of which was intended to capture the power of fire and use it to burn the user’s opponents.

The “fiery” (literally) capabilities of Rengoku Kyojuro illustrate this, as do his physical appearance and the Nichirin blade he carried.

Suggestions of his adopted Flame-Breathing stance are apparent in everything that touches Rengoku, from his clothing to weapons. Notably, he wore a white Haori with a flame gradient that intensifies at the margins. He also wore red kyahan emblazoned with yellow flames. Rengoku’s hair is reminiscent of the bright yellow of flames with red highlights. Even his eyes are bright red and yellow, like fire.

Naturally, Rengoku’s Nichirin katana reflects this affinity for fire and its ability to smite demon foes.

He carried a standard-sized Samurai sword (a katana) forged from Scarlet Ore gathered from Mount Yoko. These ores are bathed in sunlight throughout the year.

The blade of Rengoku’s katana is engraved with the words “Destroyer of Demons,” and the outfit is completed with a white and gray saya, or scabbard.

But this is not what makes his customary weapon so memorable. The blade of his katana captures the likeness of flames themselves, with a flaming red margin along the cutting edge and a black spine that calls to mind fire, smoke, light, and darkness.

Don’t miss the little details, either. The tsuba of his sword offers another distinct nod to his Flame-Breathing style, and takes the shape of a black, yellow, and orange flame.

On the screen, Demon Slayer Rengoku’s sword captures the spirit of fire. If you’re looking for a real-life replica that does the same, that can be found online at Ice Imports.
