Lithium iron phosphate, or LFP batteries, are only one class of lithium battery. Yet they are superior in many ways to other types of lithium batteries. Here are just a few of the advantages of lithium batteries sporting this chemistry.
- One of the main selling points of lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry is its inherent stability. It is less likely to experience thermal runaway, not just during discharge at high temperatures but during charging, than other types of lithium batteries. - More reliable. High and low temperatures can badly affect the discharge potential of lead-acid batteries. Lithium batteries tend to be much more reliable by comparison.
