Mitsubishi Shafts: Spotlight on the New Diamana WB

Sometimes, it’s the truly new driver shafts that steal the headlines. Other times, it’s the newly reborn driver shafts that do the same.

If there’s one shaft in the Mitsubishi lineup that has done this so far this year, it’s likely the newly reinvented Mitsubishi Diamana WB.

Here’s what these Mitsubishi shafts offer.

Low Launch, Low Spin

As in the past, the Mitsubishi Diamana WB offers low-low performance that players with fast swing speeds and fast tempos will crave.

These Mitsubishi shafts produce low, long, straight, penetrating drives for maximum carry distance and minimal dispersion.

Low launch is just what a high swing speed needs, and the low spin does the rest of the work; there’s little rollout and minimal dispersion added to the shot.

There are few other Mitsubishi shafts on the market, or any shafts, that can rival the Diamana WB for low-low performance.

(Pretty) Stiff Across the Board

With a firm butt section, a medium tip, and an extra firm midsection, the Mitsubishi Diamana WB is stiff across the board, delivering uncompromising consistency and reliability, along with excellent feedback.

Maximum Stability

The Mitsubishi Diamana WB is made with 80-ton DIALEAD Pitch Fiber in the butt section that is extremely stiff and strong, increasing stability. Swing this Mitsubishi shaft hard and you won’t see it flinch. Technology like this reduces the propensity of a shaft to oval or deform, even when swung with a vengeance.

Lower Torque, Lower Weight

Low torque is something that pretty much all golfers, not just golfers with high swing speeds, can appreciate. As a general rule, the lower the torque is, the less drastically the head will oscillate through the swing cycle, and the more likely it is that the head will square on contact with the ball. This significantly impacts accuracy, and in a good way – when torque is low.

The Mitsubishi Diamana WB sports high-modulus 46-ton fiber in angle plies that stiffen the shaft, lowering torque; but they don’t just lower torque, they also lower weight

The end result is a more consistent, more accurate shaft, and one that can be swung hard, and can stand up to aggressive swing tempos.

But this technology also stiffens the shafts, increasing torque, without increasing weight. So what you get is a lighter shaft, and that also adds a boost to swing speed capabilities and therefore to clubhead speed.

Maximum Durability

These Mitsubishi shafts also sport what MCA calls an “Xlink Tech Resin System” which has the overall effect of making the shaft more stable but also physically more durable. Strength increases, as does general durability.

That Classic Cosmetic

Lastly, the Mitsubishi Diamana WB captures the classic black-and-white cosmetic, flowers and all, that Mitsubishi fans have come to love about the Diamana. In a nod to tradition, Mitsubishi has improved on a classic without taking away its signature appeal – and that’s something that will certainly hook a few golfers, if not many.

Explore This and Other Mitsubishi Shafts

Wondering if one of the drivers in your golf bag could use the addition of a Mitsubishi Diamana WB? It might, but unless you’ve swung one of these shafts before, it might be in your best interest if you work with a fitter before you go all in.

These low-low shafts do offer excellent performance for players with fast swings and tempos, but there are other shafts that do just the same. Working with a fitter will clear up some of those lingering questions and help you determine if this – or another low-low shaft – is best for you.
