eCommerce SEO Services: Hacks for Showing Up One Page One

Believe it or not, even with over a billion websites out there, it’s still possible to show up on page one.

You just need to know what you’re doing. Here are a few tips and techniques for that, from a premier provider of eCommerce SEO services.

Target Really Low Difficulty Keywords

This is probably the number one thing you can do to increase your chances of showing up on page one. You need to find some really low difficulty keywords.

In case you’ve never used a tool like SEMRush before, either log in or get a free trial. Go to their Keyword Overview tool and type something in that’s relevant to your niche.

You’ll get some stats for the keyword, showing volume and difficulty. You ideally want to go after a keyword that has dark green difficulty (meaning very attainable). If there are no options, go for light green.

If your website is new you’ll want to avoid yellow difficulty keywords which are medium. The lower, the better.

You can also look into other keyword variants till you find one that meets your requirements for low difficulty.

And, if possible, choose a keyword that has enough volume to warrant the effort. Volume won’t increase your likelihood of ranking but it will help ensure the efforts pay off.

Create Long-Form Content That Answers Questions

Here’s the real secret sauce to SEO which can help you produce page one results in short order. You need to write a killer piece of copy.

If you’re just starting out, shy away from product and page copy and make it a blog or a CMS page. The reason we say this is because you can write a real encyclopedia for the latter that has a better chance of ranking.

Go in the Google search results for the keyword you’ve chosen, and take a look at what pops up in the top spots.

Then take a look through the People Also Ask section and see what sorts of questions are answered there.

Think about something you didn’t see answered in the search results, then backform your post around that.

Make it as comprehensive as possible and answer as many questions as you can come up with. This will increase the chances that the post ranks.

Include internal links and avoid the use of generators like AI. Make sure there is no fluff in the article.

Then, give it time. If you notice the page isn’t indexed after a few days, go into GSC and manually request indexing.

Then, you wait. Results will start to accrue. You may need to write a few posts before you get results, but eventually, if you target enough low-difficulty keywords, you’ll land somewhere on page one.

Optimize Your Images

Lastly, you’ll want to optimize your images. This is best done before you upload them, otherwise you need to go back, re-download (or upload) the files and compress them.

The thing about big images is that they really slow websites down, and sometimes they absolutely tank web vitals. Run your URLs through Google’s Pagespeed Insights and see if that’s the case for you.

If it is, you’ll want to find the images that are the big offenders, take them down, run the file through a free image compression tool, and then re-upload it.

It’s time consuming but it can make a big difference with respect to technical SEO (page speed, in this case).

Hire a Provider of eCommerce SEO Services

Lastly, one of the best (and most straightforward) things you can do to show up higher in the search results (whether or not on page one) is hire a provider of eCommerce SEO services.

Do your research and ask your platform representative if you have questions or want a recommendation. They may be able to help you choose the right provider.
