Everything the ZF9-G Offers, Broken Down

The ZF9-G is a compact PDW with a MRDS action that offers smooth-shooting performance and plenty of versatility. Here are some of the high-level selling points.

A Roller-Delayed PDW That Delivers Incredible Performance

The design of the ZF9-G is optimized for performance. Let’s take a closer look at some of what it offers.

  • Compact performance. The ZF9-G is remarkably compact, making it ideal as a truck gun, for home defense, or for other similar defensive applications. With either a 5.8” or 8.9″ barrel, this platform is incredibly compact and easy to conceal as well as handle, even in tight spaces.
  • Lightweight design. The ZF9-G is not just compact, it is light. Without the mag, it’s only 4 pounds, making it light and easy to handle and fire. With that said it’s still heavier than most handguns, giving it a strong edge when it comes to absorbing and reducing recoil.
  • Chambered in 9mm. Convenient and accessible, 9mm is one of the most popular handgun rounds in the world, let alone the country. It offers a good balance between stopping power and felt recoil, and moreover, is more affordable than rifle cartridges. This makes it a popular option for a PCC or in this case, an ARP-style platform chambered in a handgun cartridge.
  • A smooth-shooting roller-delayed blowback action. The heart of the ZF9-G is its modern roller-delayed system (MRDS, hence the name). This action type is superior to both direct blowback and to the direct gas impingement used by most ARs and ARPs. It is more reliable and more suitable with high-pressure cartridges than direct blowback and results in less port pop as well, and it’s far less complex than gas impingement. The bottom line is the MRDS action is reliable, smooth-shooting, produces minimal recoil, and as a result of its simplicity, has long-lasting components.
  • Plenty of attachment points: The ZF9-G sports a full-length Picatinny rail for mounting optics and other accessories along with a Pic rail end plate for mounting an optional stock. It also has an M-LOK har mounting attachments.
  • No buffer tube. Since it uses a roller-delayed blowback action and not direct gas impingement, the ZF9-G has no buffer tube, resulting in an even more compact build.
  • Last round bolt hold-open. Like some handguns that lock the slide open when the last round has been fired, the ZF9-G offers last-round bolt hold open functionality so you can tell when you’re out of ammo.
  • Glock mag compatibility. The ZF9-G is compatible with select 9mm Glock magazines (though it comes with a 15 round mag).
  • Fully ambidextrous controls. The safety, bolt release, mag release, and non-reciprocating charging handle of the ZF9-G are all fully ambidextrous and easy to access with either hand.
  • The ZF9-G comes with essentials. The ZF9-G comes with a soft carrying case, a 15-round mag, a cleaning kit, and even a micro compensator that will help reduce recoil.
