How Circular Light Bulbs Can Be Used

When it comes to light bulbs, there are an infinite number of different types of bulbs, in all different shapes and sizes. There are also many different categories of bulbs, such as LEDs, halogen, fluorescent, and incandescent. Needless to say, in the lighting industry, there is a lot of variety to choose from. Now, all of these certain types of light bulbs can serve a multitude of different functions and purposes.

While light bulbs and lighting fixtures are offered in various sizes and shapes, I’m sure there’s one shape that you might not associate with a lightbulb. When you think of a bulb, there is probably a good chance you haven’t considered a light bulb in the shape of a circle. But, to many’s surprise, circular light bulbs are very much an item that you can use in your home or in other settings that require light.

But, as cool as circular light bulbs sound, they do work a little differently compared to normal light bulbs. Other than the fun design of it, there are some other features from this bulb that are quite useful. If you are looking to use these fun bulbs in your home, it’s best to know what you’re getting yourself into.

What to Expect with a Circular Light Bulb

First and foremost, it’s important to note that all circular light bulbs are fluorescent. So, if you live in a strictly LED bulb household, this may present some challenges. A circular bulb also has different wattage compared to a regular incandescent bulb.

According to an article from Conservation Mart, circline lamps use wattages to measure how much power a bulb is going to use. A circle bulb offers the same amount of light as an incandescent bulb, but uses less power. So, these light bulbs are actually more efficient and can save you a bit on your electricity bill.

In lamps (light bulbs) the color of the actual bulb represents how bright the bulb will shine. These circline fluorescent lights can range in color from a warmish white all the way to the brightest daylight color. These bulbs are very similar in wattage and color to a CFL or a compact fluorescent light.

While these bulbs are a super fun way to add a bit of flare to any room in your home, you have to be aware that they won’t fit in all types of light fixtures. Depending on certain manufacturers, some light fixtures can only use bulbs from the same line or brand. Annoying, I know. But, it can work. Just make sure that when replacing a circular light bulb, that there are no manufacturer specifications on which bulb can be used.

Other than those few simple rules to factor in, these circline bulbs are a great way to add a bit of spice to your home. If you are on the hunt for these fluorescent bulbs, then check out the ones offered from Atlanta Light Bulbs.
