Unpacking the Everpure ROM III

Filtering the water in your home before you use it for cooking or drinking is not only a matter of aesthetic enjoyment, but it is also a matter of protecting your family’s safety. In addition to waterborne illnesses, inorganic contaminants and toxins can also pose a silent risk to your family’s health and yours.

For that reason, some homeowners choose reverse osmosis water filtration systems like the Everpure ROM III, which offers advanced performance and protection. Here’s what you need to know.

What Is Reverse Osmosis?
Most water filters utilize a special fine mesh filter that provides mechanical filtration by trapping particulate matter and, in select instances, even certain microorganisms. While they can be highly effective at removing contaminants, some can “slip through the cracks.”

Reverse osmosis filters, like the Everpure ROM II and III are different. Reverse osmosis, or RO, filters work by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane that only allows the passage of pure water. As a result, the majority of dissolved minerals, metals, salts, microorganisms, and particulate matter cannot pass the filter membrane.

Reverse osmosis filters are among the most effective water filters when it comes to removing dissolved salts (such as in seawater treatment) as well as toxic metals, organic compounds, and most bacteria and even viruses – although an RO filter should never be solely relied on to free a water source of microbial contaminants.

Everpure ROM III Specifications
The Everpure ROM III utilizes the same features as its predecessor, the ROM II, with an added layer of protection.

It utilizes the ROM II’s carbon block filter and TFC (thin film composite) cartridge to remove chlorine tastes and odors, particulate matter, and most other contaminants down to .00001 microns, including arsenic, fluoride, and nitrates.

The ROM III also features a VOC #1 cartridge which is effective at removing VOCs such as MTBE that may remain in the water after passing through the first two stages of filtration.

Consequently, the Everpure ROM III offers robust RO filtration capabilities and can remove chlorine tastes and odors, dirt, dust, asbestos fibers, oxidized iron, and manganese, along with other particulate matter.

It limits limescale accumulation, reduces common VOCs such as THMs, reduces MTBE, and effectively controls parasitic cysts, such as those of Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

It also reduces lead to below the federal action level and effectively removes other common toxic metals, including but not limited to cadmium, chromium, copper, and barium, along with other contaminants such as fluoride, selenium, and arsenic.

All in all, it also controls off tastes and odors in the water and finely polishes it for use in cooking, cleaning, and of course, drinking.
